IGFS Members: Qualifications and Classification
Founding Members shall be doctors of medicine/osteopathic medicine that have an interest in the treatment of geriatric fractures. Founding Members will provide the initial funding for the formation of the Society in the amount established by vote of the Board of Directors. Founding Members will pay ongoing annual membership dues after their initial investment at the same rate as Physician Members.
Medical Professional Members shall be doctors of medicine/osteopathic medicine, nurses, physical therapists, dieticians, and any other medical professionals that have an interest in the treatment of geriatric fractures. Medical Professional Members will pay annual membership dues in the amount established by vote of the Board of Directors. Medical Professional Members may vote and serve on committees and the Board of Directors.
Hospital Members shall be those professionals employed in a hospital setting that have an interest in the treatment of geriatric fractures. Hospital Members will pay annual membership dues in the amount established by vote of the Board of Directors. Hospital Members may vote and serve on committees and the Board of Directors.
Emeritus Members shall be members in good standing who reach the age of 65. Emeritus Members shall not pay dues nor shall they be permitted to vote or hold office.
Honorary Members shall be those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of science and treatment of Geriatric Fractures. They shall not pay dues nor shall they be permitted to vote or hold office.
Affiliate Members shall be those individuals affiliated with the treatment of geriatric fractures and operation and administration of geriatric fracture programs who have a professional interest in geriatric fracture care. Affiliate Members may be representatives of industry. Affiliate Members will pay annual membership dues in the amount established by vote of the Board of Directors. Affiliate Members may serve on committees, and may serve on the Board of Directors but may not serve as an officer of the organization. Representatives of Industry may not serve on the Board of Directors or as an officer of the organization.
Trainee Members shall be those individuals that are in medical school, nursing, therapy, residency, internships, or fellowships that have a professional interest in geriatric fracture care. Trainee Members are not required to pay annual membership dues. Trainee Members may not vote but are eligible to serve on committees and the Board of Directors.
